Use buzzwords that are trending – With innovations in technology occurring so quickly, our digital world is continually changing. That means you need to go after forward-thinking words. Turn to Google Trends to determine whats hot and what’s waiting in the wings. It’s a good idea to go after these keyword terms because they’re not too competitive yet. Creating content around new, up-and-coming keywords will help shoot you to the top of the search rankings a lot faster than if you went after more tired terms like “credit cards.”

Use Ubersuggest to find keywords – We live in a day and age when, instead of searching for “dog food”, people search for keywords like, “what dog food is best for my dog”. Ubersuggest shows you different variations of your primary keyword, as well as how competitive they are, their potential search volume, and how many people will click on your listing based on your rankings.

Take advantage of Quora – Simply type in keywords related to your industry, and you’ll see the most popular questions people are asking. This will tell you what kind of content you need to create.
